Chinese search engine Baidu and France Telecom have revealed thedevelopment of a browser specifically developed for low-end smartphones
in Africa. Africa currently has around 80 million France Telecom users.
The browser will be available to download on all smartphones via a text
link, and will come pre-installed on phones sold by France Telecom.
The browser attempts to ease the slower data speeds currently available
on African mobile networks by minimising the data received and sent when
visiting popular sites.
