On February 13, Google Shopping will become a paid service, available only to customers of another Google service, Product Listing Ads.
A study by Marin Software has revealed that advertisers with PLA campaigns have achieved success in the US. The click shares for Product Listing Ads increased from 2.1% to 6.6% over the past year, suggesting that users are finding the ads more relevant to their interests.
The rise in product clicks may also be due to the increase of product-related searches over the Christmas holidays.
