A new lithium-ion battery that can bring just under 200 miles driving range to electric vehicles after just six minutes of being plugged in, is reportedly to be released by Toshiba in 2019.
According to the report from Malaysian automotive news website, Paultan, Toshiba’s new battery includes titanium niobium oxide with a crystal structure that stores lithium ions more efficiently to make recharging and releasing energy more efficient.
Lithium-ion batteries are used in everyday items such as phones and laptops due to being lightweight and chargeable.
