Facebook loading speeds will slow as the site will use the more secure’HTTPS’ url rather than the current ‘HTTP’.
Facebook’s Alex Rice posted on the switch on the official Facebook blog,
saying, ‘we feel that HTTPS is an essential option to protect the
security of Facebook accounts’.
HTTPS is currently widespread on websites that process online payments,
and other sites that contain user details.
