Google has added a detailed map of North Korea for the first time,sourced almost entirely from user submissions.

Cartographer citizens have been adding map data to the Google map maker
over the last few years. Google says that the map data remains “very
limited”. The map cannot be viewed by citizens as the internet cannot be
accessed in North Korea.

Jayanth Mysore, Senior Product Manager at Google Map Maker, said: “one
of the exciting things about maps is that the world is a constantly
changing place. We encourage people from around the world to continue
helping us improve the quality of these maps for everyone.”
