From Monday 23 October, vehicles that do not comply with the Euro IV exhaust standard, which will mainly be those registered before 2006, will have to pay a £10 T-Charge on top of the existing £11.50 congestion charge.
The measure is the latest attempt by London Mayor Sadiq Khan to improve air quality in the capital, who described the introduction of the T-Charge as “part of a package of measures” being undertaken. It will, according to the mayor’s office, affect 34,000 motorists a month.
