A report commissioned by the link shortening service Bit.ly has revealed a table of optimum times to post blogs or announce news, recently brought together neatly in an infographich by creative agency, Raka.

So, how do you ensure that you get the most out of your social media followers? If you post something at the dead of night it’s highly likely that no one is going to see it, sadly.

When do I post this?

Where Twitter is concerned the best times to share your messages and content is between 1pm and 3pm from Monday to Thursday, the report concluded. These have the highest interaction rates for the site.

For Facebook, interestingly, 3pm on a Wednesday has the highest average click through rate but generally again early afternoon Monday to Thursday is the optimum time to post.

So when shouldn’t you post?

Anything after 8pm week nights and never anything after 3pm on a Friday as the majority of your prospected clients have dropped off, and their concentration levels have flatlined.

A cunning ploy when utilising Facebook is to try and post at around 11am because this is when traffic is at its highest. The more people online, the more people you are going to hit with your messages.
