A new major research centre for the development of ultra-low emission vehicles has received £10m investment from the West of England Combined Authority.

Construction of the £60 million facility at the Bristol and Bath Science Park is scheduled to open in early 2020, with construction expected to start next summer.

The Institute for Advanced Automotive Propulsion Systems (IAAPS) facility will stimulate over £67m in additional automotive research investment by 2025, as well as a turnover of £800m for the UK automotive sector and support nearly 1,900 new highly productive jobs.
