Blog

What a couple of weeks! Busy, eventful and exciting are probably the best words to describe this new chapter in my career, and this opportunity to grow with and learn more about this thriving digital agency was only soured by England’s predictable yet heartbreaking dismantling at the hands of the Italians in the European championships and Andy Murray’s ability to keep Britain on the familiar track of disappointment.

Back to GoldSand Digital…I’ve been thrown in at the deep end (I was warned) and have been getting busy the content creation team at the agency. Whether it’s article writing, blogging, tweeting or delving into the nuts and bolts of SEO, the past two weeks have been the rollercoaster ride I was promised, and some.

I know I’ve only dipped my little toe into a vast lake, but it’s one that I know can swim in confidently.

One of the most enlightening parts of my experience at GoldSand Digital so far has been being able to witness and appreciate the benefits that an effective digital marketing strategy can have on a business. Watching our content projects boost web traffic and time spent on sites has been rewarding to say the least – as has seeing some of the articles and blogs I have helped develop get published on industry websites for our clients. I have to mention my own project too, which is my own outlet for new ideas and digital mastery. I have become pretty attached to the student housing investment niche it has to be said – already identifying it as one that has great potential and one that I will continue to develop.

The success of my project will hinge on me creating good quality content and being able to drive organic traffic to my website. It doesn’t sound like a lot at first but the longer I’ve worked here the more I am able to appreciate the amount of effort and work it takes to make a success of a start-up project while still being able to understand the great sense of pride and excitement at seeing something take off as a result.

The weather has been rubbish this week so I hope that’s not an omen for my career choice. It certainly doesn’t feel that way. I feel confident in saying that I made the right choice coming here and the early morning, sweaty and crammed underground journeys have proved to be a small price to pay for what is looking like very valuable professional experience in the exciting field of digital marketing.
