The new initiative backed by the government, Startup Britain, created to help promote and develop UK startups has already shown great promise for GSD.
Despite some fairly severe criticism, mainly focused around the fact that it seems to be a fancy affiliate website for big brands, GSD have sidestepped that and focused on what it can do for the business.
With that in mind, we identified that there was an opportunity to gain experience from a business mentor through an affiliation with the Supper Club. The offer was one hour with a relevant and experience business person and in return you have to provide at least 2 hours mentoring at a future date.
We submitted our form and quickly received a reply that it was being considered and that we would hear from them shortly.
A few days later and we have been paired up with a businessman with over 22 years experience working in an industry that is relevant to where we are focusing the business.
It was an incredibly simple process and we’ve now got a fantastic mentor who has already had a positive impact on the our business.
I would recommend this service to anyone who is considering a mentor.
