Not enough Twitter users utilise the hashtag and retweet option when sending tweets, according to a new study into the social media channel, by Buddy Media.
The study showed that under a fifth (19%) of Twitter users surveyed send tweets at the weekend, despite this being a popular period for Twitter usage. The survey by Buddy Media also revealed that where users space their tweets out during the week, some 28.6% of those tweets should occur at the weekend.

Interestingly, the report also showed that tweets sent between the hours of 8am and 7pm got 30% more of a response than those sent after these hours. Contrary to this Facebook is almost a mirror image of this trend. Less busy hours receive a far higher response level than those sent within peak time.
