The Samsung Galaxy SIII has reached 30 million sales in the five monthssince its release. The SIII has tripled the five-month sales figure for
its predecessor, the Galaxy SII.
A similar growth in sales can also be seen in reports for the Galaxy
Note II, having sold three times as many units as the original Galaxy
Note in the month since its release.
President and Head of IT & Mobile Communications JK Shin made the
following statement: ‘The Galaxy S III continues to be a runaway
favourite around the world. Meeting this sales milestone in five months
sets another record for Samsung.’
Apple’s iPhone, however, continues to dominate as an individual handset,
having sold over five million in its first three days on sale, compared
to 10 million Samsung GSIIIs shipped in 50 days.
