Volkswagen has committed to investing £30.4 billion into the hybridisation and electrification of models as part of Roadmap E, which is, according to the manufacturer, “the most comprehensive electrification initiative in the automotive industry”.
Roadmap E has a plan to provide an electric option for every model line by 2030.
At the meeting of Volkswagen’s Supervisory Board on Friday, chief executive Matthias Müller claimed that the car brand was “reinventing the car”, and making targeted investments to provide the necessary funds from its own resources.
