At the Our Ocean conference in Malta, Sky announced it will remove all single-use plastics from its products, supply-chain and operations by 2020. This change will be put in place immediately and by the end of 2017 all products will be made without plastic that is thrown away after one use.

£25 million will be invested to help develop technology to stop use of single-use plastic in an Ocean Rescue Innovation Fund.

This is also in attempt to safeguard marine protected areas in Sky’s major European territories with their near partnership with WWF. Currently only 1% of the sea if fully protected.

We applaud any company that takes a stand to help improve the environment so hats off to Sky.
