24% of UK consumers carried out christmas shopping on a mobile device,according to a survey conducted by Digital Marketing Consultancy firm Econsultancy. Of these respondents to the survey, 11% used a smartphone and 13% shopped using a tablet. 77% of those remaining carried out shipping on a desktop. Mark Zuckerberg has revealed that Facebook users have uploaded 240billion photos and made 1 trillion connections on the site. The figures were revealed at Zuckerberg's conference at Palo Alto, California on Tuesday, held to reveal Facebook's new 'graph search' feature. Coca-Cola have addressed issues relating to obesity in its newadvertising campaign, in response to many US Local Governments' attempts to ban sugary beverages. The campaign focuses on the Food and Drink giant's alternatives of low- and no-calorie options, and presses the fact that it is taking in more calories than we burn off that leads to weight gain. The Twitter-owned smartphone app Tweetdeck has once again failed to fileits accounts, leading Companies House, the U.K. registrar of companies. Twitter and TweetDeck were both fined for late filing of accounts in Dec 2012. While Twitter has now filed, TweetDeck has not, and has now been given a 99-day time limit in which to file up-to-date accounts. If they are not filed in this time, the company will be dissolved. Chinese search engine Baidu and France Telecom have revealed thedevelopment of a browser specifically developed for low-end smartphones in Africa. Africa currently has around 80 million France Telecom users. The browser will be available to download on all smartphones via a text link, and will come pre-installed on phones sold by France Telecom. Users attempting to message Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg will now havetwo options: send a message to 'his inbox' - for $100 - or 'Just send this message to his Other folder'. This 'other' inbox is also a relatively unknown feature of all users' accounts. This service has been criticised for its auto-filtration of some users' messages. App developer Maluuba is exploring the potential for its PersonalAssistant voice recognition app, with possible features to control TVs, kitchen appliances and even cars with the voice. The app currently operates as a hyper-effective Siri-like organisation and search app. Plans for voice interaction with appliances and hardware are predicted for further in the future, while controlling hardware wirelessly through voice interaction with a smartphone 'might make sense', according to Tareq Ismail, head of UX for Maluuba.
